You can enjoy the benefits of having all your content online and synchronising with your home and office machine(s). This means, you can still use Outlook or Apple Mail and iCal (Mac) to view your emails and calendar appointments AND have a copy on Google's servers. So you can be at your brother-in-laws BBQ, jump on his computer and check your emails and appointments without having to do anything other than login!
